Book Overview

Learning to Love Jesus . . . His Powerful Parables is the second in a series titled Learning to Love Jesus.

Jesus gave examples of how to love, forgive, and help others along with the assurance of God’s love for them.

Children will enjoy the rhyming verse and colorful illustrations while learning valuable life lessons. It will be a good addition to both family and Sunday school collections.

Arlene Arends Max, preschool teacher and former Sunday School teacher, has published two books in a series for children titled Learning to Love Jesus. The first, subtitled His Amazing Miracles, introduces children to Biblical wonders such as the feeding of five thousand with only five small loaves of bread and two fish, as well as healing the sick, and even raising the dead. The second, subtitled His Powerful Parables, tells the familiar stories of the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, and others which teach children about helping, loving, and forgiving others. They can be read to very young children who love rhymes and enjoy having someone cuddle and read to them. Older children will be able to read the poems themselves or with their families, even looking up the Bible verse included with each one. It is never too early to expose children to the love of Jesus, and to encourage a love of reading as well. The third book in the series, subtitled His Precious Teachings will be published soon.
